October Love Lula Picks

This was my first month as a Love Lula approved blogger* and I picked these lovely products to review:

LYONSLEAF BODY BUTTER

 I've tried samples of Lyonsleaf products before and liked them and I know they are firm favourites with many bloggers so I was keen to try their Body Butter as the drop in temperature at this time of year starts to dry out my already dry skin. I do have to moisturise every day or I start to itch.

Ingredients:

butyrospermum parkii [organic raw shea butter] • cocos nucifera [cold pressed organic coconut oil] • persea americana [organic, cold pressed, avocado oil] • prunus amygdalus dulcis [cold pressed sweet almond oil] • tocopherol [natural vitamin E oil] • styrax benzoin [benzoin resin] • salvia sclarea [clary sage essential oil] •pelargonium graveolens [geranium essential oil] • calendula officinalis [calendula flower extract] note: the essential oils naturally contain: citral, geraniol, benzyl benzoate, benzyl cinnamate, limonene, linolool

What a gorgeous pot of yumminess this is. It's 95% organic and 100% natural with a delicate, really relaxing smell. I expected it might be one of those butters that you have to melt a bit in your hands first before applying, as it contains coconut oil, but no, the texture is perfect and soft, really easy to scoop out and apply. It's a small jar for the price but economical as a little goes a long way. Using it all over my body every day for a month, I've used half the jar, which isn't bad at all.

And the verdict? It left my skin hydrated and soft and I've had no itching at all which is usually the tell-tale sign that a body product isn't working for me.

This butter is exactly the sort of product I search out for my dry skin. Lotions just don't cut it for me (sometimes a thick cream might), it's water-free butter and oil formulas which are the best for my skin.

I have no hesitation recommending this lovely product and declaring myself a firm Lyonsleaf fan!

KIMBERLY SAYER TANGERINE AND CALENDULA HEALING LIGHT NIGHT CREAM

This caught my eye when I was on the look out for a cream to help with my recently problem skin. I've actually had problem skin for years and suffer with hormonal acne when I don't take the Pill. A recent change to another Pill has caused my skin to go from dry to combination and blemished.

This is the first Kimberly Sayer product I've tried and won't be the last as I've heard such great things about the brand. 

Ingredients: DEIONIZED WATER, ALOE VERA LEAF JUICE, SWEET ALMOND OIL, GLYCERIN (VEGETABLE), OAT BETA GLUCAN, OAT KERNAL EXTRACT, SEA ALGAE EXTRACT, SQUALANE (OLIVES), BENZYL ALCOHOL (PLANT ALCOHOL PRESERVATIVE), BORAGE SEED OIL, SHEA BUTTER, OILS OF NEROLI, SANDALWOOD, CALENDULA FLOWER, ROSE, FORAHA, PALMOROSA, WHEATGERM, EXTRACTS OF ROSEWOOD, NETTLE LEAF, ROSE BUD & ROSEMARY, SUNFLOWER SEED OIL, LILY FLOWER, COCONUT OIL, JAPANESE HONEYSUCKLE EXTRACT (PRESERVATIVE)

The list of ingredients read like a dream. This is probably the purest face cream I've used (me who was previously a Protect and Perfect girl). It purports to heal acne scars and balance oily patches as well as gently hydrating. 

The cream is light yellow and smells like vegetables 😊. I found it a very good moisturiser. Although it says it's a light cream, I find it of the suitable thickness I like in a night cream. It's not heavy or greasy and blends well and I've noticed that I am using less concealer on the redness from previous spots on my chin. It also really lasts as I've barely made a dent in the tub from a month of use, so I would recommend it as good value for money.

ODYLIQUE TEA TREE AND GREEN CLAY CLEANSING BAR

Ingredients: Sodium olivate*, aqua, sodium cocoate*, melaleuca alternifolia leaf oil*, Cymbopogon citratus leaf oil*argilla extract.

Plain English: Saponified Virgin Olive* & Coconut* oils*, Tea tree*, Lemongrass*, Green clay   

*Organically grown/produced

Another find for helping with combination/blemished skin was this cleansing bar from Odylique. Again, this is a new-to-me brand and I don't hear a lot about them in blogger circles so I thought it would be great to provide a review for those who don't know a lot about their products.

This is a bar with minimal ingredients, coconut and olive oils for hydration and tea tree, lemongrass and green clay to give a deep cleanse.

The verdict? The bar has a lovely lemony scent which is great first thing in the morning and lathers up well. I bought this to use specifically on a work morning when I am in a rush and don't have time for a proper cleanse. This bar makes short work of it and the cleanse is nonetheless thorough. Afterwards, my skin feels really soft and balanced. A definite repurchase and I'll be trying other Odylique products in the future.
